Buckle

Sometimes it's hard.

What's hard?

EVERYTHING.

Achievement is hard. Finding something worthwhile is hard. Everything can be hard. Regardless of what the ads in the papers and online say....everything is hard.

Fitness is hard. True health and fitness is hard. The journey, while rewarding, is hard.

We all know this.... so why do so many fail?

People fail because they buckle under the pressure. It's just too HARD so it's time to quit.

Lame.

Really. Did you think it was going to be easy? Did you think you were going to wake up the first morning after your first trip to the gym and the abs were going to magically appear?

No way. You are bloated and sore and you gained a pound so you cheated and ate a doughnut. See this doesn't work. It's too hard.

What a load of crap. Seems stupid, right?

It's not because this is what most of you do. This is why you are not in shape people! You buckle.

You quit. You give in. You give up. YOU BUCKLE.

Stop that.

OK. I know what you are thinking....  "So far this article hasn't been helpful in the least."

You are right. Duh. People quit, That's a fact it it's really not helpful.

But it can be.

Let me explain.

Most of us have a pretty good idea where we are going when it comes to fitness. Some coaching and goal setting is helpful but in a general sense we know we want to run a marathon or lose 50 lbs or fit into an old pair of jeans,

Yes?

We also have a pretty good idea where we are. We are sickened at the scale or the dress size or the image in the mirror standing in front of us.

Think of the "journey" as a "journey". If you live in Florida and you want to go to a family reunion in California you pretty much know the facts, right?

You are in Florida and you want to go to California. #boom #figuredthatoneout

Fitness is the same way. You are fat and you want to be thin.

What is the variable in scenarios? That's right. What is in the middle.

For your trip to Cali you know it's going to be an outlay of cash, right? You don't go online and see the airline ticket is $500 and say, "That's too much, I'm not going."

Right?!?

Then when you are fat and want to be fit to you quit the first time the scale goes the wrong way or you don't get up in time for class or the gym dues are expensive this month or you are sore or you are tired or....or.....or.....OR....

The point is simple today. Stop buckling when things get hard.

Yeah...it will be hard. You are going to want to quit.

DON'T.

Just when you feel yourself bucking remember why you started. It's important and so are you.

I've been helping to guide people along their fitness journey for the last 15 years and I could help you also. We have several programs that involve in person and online coaching.

If you have a goal then I can help you reach it. Send me an email or give me a call to learn how I can help.

If you got value from this post please comment and share and, for the love of God, don't buckle!
