Priorities

"Nobody's life is ever all balanced. It's a conscious decision to choose your priorities every day." ~ Elizabeth Hasselbeck

I am going to be very clear and succinct with today's blog post. There is NOTHING more important then what I am going to talk about today. NOTHING.

I want to talk about you and your health. As I write this it is "Black Friday" and many people are out supposedly doing good in the world by buying a bunch of stuff at a cheap price at some Black Friday scam. Maybe my timing may seem off but I think it is right on.

This is the time of year that people need most to think about themselves and their health yet many of us do the opposite and put it off time January 1st.

It's about priorities. Priorities that need to be shifted.

Most people think the next 35 days till January 1st are a "hall pass". It's a season of shopping and parties and gluttony. We rationalize this behavior because on January 1st we "get in shape" or "join the gym" or "get back on the workout place" or "set goals" or....WHATEVER.
That's not how life works. Do you ever notice how crowded the gym is on January 1st and how vacant it is on March 1st?
This place doesn't work, it has NEVER worked and it will NEVER work. EVER.
The way that our bodies look and feel are a direct results of the priorities that we make. Do you put shopping and buying crap for other people ahead of your well being?

Most of you do. You need to stop and you need to stop NOW.
I said in the beginning that I would keep this post short and I would keep it clear. I intend to do that.
I am not trying to "guilt" you into going to the gym. I am not saying people shouldn't shop or go to parties. I don't care if you do those things. What I am saying is that if you do those things you also need to workout each day and you need to eat right most of the time.
Stop using the days between Thanksgiving and New Years as your "hall pass". Stop blaming your need to impress others and save $10 as an excuse to give up on yourself.
The holidays are a great time of year. I love the holidays.
The holidays, however, are meant to be enjoyed and cherished. Let's keep your health as a priority so you can be around to celebrate a few more holiday seasons.
Change your priories and change your life. Start today. Get out the door and do some exercise!
